Thanksgiving in Nebraska

I cannot sleep so I thought I would post about our Thanksgiving.

We left Michigan at 2:15 AM Thursday morning and 9 hours later arrived to Lincoln, Nebraska. The trip was uneventful and the weather was great, but we arrived exhausted. Thanksgiving Dinner was planned for 3PM so we had time to clean up and relax a little before the rest of the guests arrived.

I want to share some pictures from around my in-laws home. They just participated in a Christmas Open house the city of Lincoln organized, and my mother in law decorated every inch of the house. There is a Christmas tree pretty much in every room!

Everything really looked so beautiful, like walking into a Christmas wonderland! The girls just loved looking at everything. Of course, after our arrival, things have deteriorated a little bit, but this is how things looked when we first walked in the house. (you can click on the pictures to see them larger)

Dinner was delicious, as always, but by the time we were done eating, I was done in! I tried to stay talking to the rest of the family, but I just could not take it, I snuck upstairs around 4:30 PM and just went to sleep for the rest of the evening.

Consequently, I do not have many pictures of the event and the ones I have are a little blurry, but here they are nevertheless.

On Friday afternoon, Joel went to the Nebraska – Colorado football game with his brother and his mom and the girls and I did a little shopping. Surprisingly, the stores were not nearly as crowded as I thought they would be. We probably missed the big morning rush.

Overall, we are having a good time here taking a little down time and enjoying the holiday.
