I am finally getting around uploading pictures of Kaitlin's party this last Sunday. We took the cousins and some of Kaitlin's friends to a nearby indoor water park.
When we first arrived, I was somewhat disappointed because the park was a lot smaller than I expected. However, the kids did not seem to mind.
The younger ones were on the go the whole time and thankfully everyone was tall enough to ride the slides on their own. This made it a lot more relaxing for the adults (mainly me) :) and the fact that the park was small and not very crowded made it easy to just sit on the lounge chairs and still be able to supervise everyone.
It was interesting to watch the older girls, the differences in their developmental stage is very obvious right now, even though there is only two years difference between Kaitlin and the older ones in the group.
The three older ones were more interested in talking and spent most of the time just going round and round in the lazy river while Kaitlin and her friend Kristen were more interested in playing and going down the slides.
I hope Kaitlin stays at this stage a little bit longer. Can you tell I am getting anxious about the teenage years?
It was a relatively stress-free birthday party, not much planning required, no theme cake to make and no mess to clean-up, so why did I find myself actually missing the whole planning for a theme, and crafts, and games, etc.? I am either a masochist or just not ready for my little girl to grow up so fast!
