About a month ago Natalie came up with the idea of inviting some of her friends and getting together to do crafts regularly. Being that both our girls (and their mom) could use some practice in the socializing arena we decided to take her idea seriously and actually organize a craft club.
Natalie and her dad wrote down all their ideas and called a meeting to determine what title/role everyone was going to have in the club. Natalie of course was the President, it was decided that mom was the Vice-President, and after some
We put together invitations with detailed information, Natalie addressed the envelopes, and we put them in the mail.
Our first meeting was this last February 7th. We did not realize it was Super Bowl Sunday until we had sent out the invitations, but decided to keep the meeting. A couple of Natalie’s friends from school and my niece Elena came and everyone seemed to have fun.
The girls decorated some T-Shirts that they will wear to future meetings, made some cute Valentines bookmarks and ate some sugary snacks. I had prepared another craft but after a couple of minutes of them working on it they decided they were tired of doing crafts went downstairs to play with Natalie’s Playmobile toys and the Wii. At least now, I have a good idea of what their attention span is and next time I will prepare less crafts and leave more time for playing.
All in all everyone seemed to have fun and Natalie is looking forward to the next meeting coming up next week. We will be making Sock Puppets!
Here are some pictures of the fun afternoon.
