After more than 80 days into this project, I have to admit it has been more difficult to keep up than I anticipated. There have been two days so far I totally forgot to take a picture and remembered in the middle of the night, got out of bed and just snapped one to ease my conscience [grin] but did not post them because they were just worthless. Still, two out of 82 is a pretty good grade, right?
Also challenging has been to find time to upload the pictures and create a daily post. I normally want the pictures I post to capture the essence of our day, and sometimes they do, but a lot of them fall short.
One of my goals at taking up this project was to force myself to improve my photography skills. The biggest challenge in this area has been the cold and darkness outside. Most of my pictures have been taken inside and I still struggle quite a bit trying to achieve the “right lighting” when taking pictures inside.
However, the days are starting to be sunnier and I am really looking forward to spring and being able to spend more time outside and experiment with the camera.
Still, I am glad I decided to take up this project and I am committed to sticking with it. It does help me pay more attention to the little things that happen around us. It will be fun to have a year worth of photos documenting the girls and some of our family activities. Maybe they will even make it into an album [grin]. Now that would be a real accomplishment!
