Easter Celebration

Here are some scenes of our Easter activities this year. The girls and two of their cousins, colored five-dozen eggs on Saturday night. (How am I going to explain those $10 spent on eggs to Dave Ramsey?). As always, Kaitlin gets very focused on the whole process and takes it slow. The younger ones were just going for quantity, not quality, and going through the eggs as fast as they could.

On Easter morning we hosted some family for lunch. I have to admit I got really stressed out with all the preparations. I procrastinated with the planning and ended up having to squeeze everything, including food shopping, into four hours in the morning. On top of it, the entire menu we chose was labor intensive and Joel and I alternated for nearly two hours making enough crepe shells and decorating not so simple cupcakes. It got really ugly there for a while, but we made it on time, the food turned out great and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Since we had snow for Easter this year we had the egg hunt indoors. The kids had fun nevertheless and loved searching all over the house. We missed the rest of the cousins that did not make it for all the fun since they were driving back from their Spring Break vacation in Texas. They actually made it for the end of the party and at least were able to eat some of the left over food.

We then all paid a spontaneous visit to our friend Diana that is home recovering from knee surgery. The kids all donated items from their Easter basket to put one together for her.

Hope your Easter was a happy one!
