Stenosing Tenosynovitis

I had an appointment at the Hand Clinic today to start taking care of some of the joint pain I have been experiencing in my hands for several years now. Since October, it has gotten worse, and right now, my right thumb is completely stiff. After a quick hand examination the doctor’s diagnosis is Trigger Finger. He recommended a cortisone shot to see if that helps the inflammation around the tendon and ordered some lab work to test for other diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. I got both done today. Now I have to deal with the anxiety of waiting for the test results.

This is the first thing to check off my list of health issues that are causing me stress. The next big one is to get a mammogram, but I will wait to schedule that after our spring break vacation.
