Much to my Natalie’s annoyance they both turn five today! For the next four months, three out of the seven cousins will be 5 years old! That means all the cousins are now a members of the “5 and up” club the older ones had made up to keep the two little ones out of their hair.
Alex and Elena both had their parties last Sunday. Almost an exact replica of last year, except thankfully Elena was not sick and this year, in addition, we had to attend two graduation open houses in-between.
Alex’s theme this year was The Olympics. They started the festivities with the Torch Relay, competed in some sports and finished with an award ceremony where everyone medaled.
Elena’s theme was My Little Pony and there was face painting, trying to eat apples on a string, and a pony relay race.
The kids had a blast at both, the adults were almost falling off the chairs exhausted and queasy from having spent the entire day party hoping and eating. One of these years, these kids parents will wise up and plan just ONE big party for both of them. I guess I can always dream!
