Welcome March!

Can you believe March is here already? Next week the girls have their school Spring Break! I am trying to live more in the moment this year and the “Picture a Day” project has helped, but it seems that every couple of weeks is a new month already.

It has been so long since I wrote on this blog that many of the thoughts and memories I had hoped to write down have now disappeared into the dark spaces of my mind [grin]. It is not lack of material, is an unwillingness to do anything that takes more effort than blinking my eyes.

Things have actually been going well. I spent January and February getting long overdue physical exams and tests. I had to face some of my fears head on [grin] but I am glad I did it. I can now put some of my anxieties to rest for a while and have some tools to deal with the health issues I do have.

I have also been trying to shed some pounds, and although I would like to report huge success in this area, I really have not moved along as fast as I would have liked. Nevertheless, it has not been a complete failure. Year-to-date I have lost around 7 pounds. However, I need to speed it up quite a bit if I want to meet by goal by my deadline of June.

March is shaping up to be a good month. The girls are finally in a more stable routine. We were all still struggling since the Winter Break to get back into our schedule. Our household tends to fall apart when do not follow a somewhat regular routine.

Right now, our focus is to get through this week alive so we can enjoy the Spring Break next week. As we always do, we started with huge plans for spring break but when we sat down and mapped the miles we were going to have to drive, we quickly came to our senses. The plan is to drive up to Minneapolis with a couple of stops along the way. We are excited about it! It will not be warm as the place we had originally planned, but it will be something different in a place the girls have never been to. Natalie is looking forward to visiting the Mall of America. That little girl loves to shop!

So here is a belated welcome to March. Hoping Spring comes soon!
